Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Benfica star forward Darwin Nunez. The two teams will meet in the morning, sign documents, and finally complete the record-breaking €80 million trade plus €20 million in add-ons.

The sting of the Virgil van Dijk transfer gaffe from 2017 remains, as does the bitter taste of other failed signings after watching the best players in the world select their rivals over Anfield.
