“I want him” Liverpool favourite to sign £51,000-a-week Bundesliga star
Liverpool transfer news: Liverpool favourite to sign £51,000-a-week Bundesliga star.
Liverpool are said to be favourite to land Borussia Monchengladbach star Denis Zakaria.
The Reds are in pole position to bring the Swiss star to Anfield according to reports from Italian media.
Zakaria has been a long-term target for the Premier League club and it seems likely to materialise sooner than later.
Monchengladbach suffered a shocking 6-0 defeat at the weekend and the 25-year-old is hoping the team’s recent poor result is not held against him.
Well, under quite shocking circumstances, admittedly.
The midfielder, who has 38 appearances for Switzerland to his name, recorded a passing percentage of 90 percent and had two shots on goal.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool wants the £51,000-a-week star but, let’s be honest, Jurgen Klopp needs a midfielder.
The German coach never replaced Georginio Wijnaldum who left for PSG in the summer and while the Reds have done well without him, their injuries worries are on the rise.
Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, and Harvey Elliott are all ruled out at the moment and the loss of one more star in the midfield may be bad news for Klopp.
Though Thiago has become a key player for Liverpool recently and the longer he’s in the team, the better Liverpool seems to be doing.
But as mentioned above, Zakaria is a long-term target for Klopp, well that’s what the newspapers are saying at least, and time will tell how true the speculation is.
Zakaria has played 120 matches throughout the course of his career in the Bundesliga.
