Four Manchester United players set to miss Arsenal’s clash as Harry Maguire returns.
Manchester United are set to be without four of their first-team players amid injury crisis.
The club captain Harry Maguire will return to the starting lineup after missing united 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, due to a suspension. He was sent off in united’s 4-1 loss to Watford.
Manchester United will welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on Thursday night under the tutelage of Micheal Carrick.
United new interim coach, Ralf Rangnick is still waiting for his work permit to be approved, so Carrick will take charge of his third game since Ole Gunner Solskjaer was dismissed.
United will miss the services of defender Raphel Varane, who is still recovering from a thigh injury he suffered while on international duty for France men national team.
Luke Shaw is another who is unavailable for the clash against Mikel Arteta’s side as he continues to recover from a head injury.
The Englishman suffered a concussion against Manchester City earlier this month and took a blow to the head again during the defeat at Watford so Carrick is taking no chances with the full-back.
Also United will be without midfielder Paul Pogba when the gunners visit on Thursday night, as he continues recovering from a thigh injury, while Edison Cavani will be unavailable for selection due to an ongoing tendon Problem.
Over the weekend united received some good news as forward Mason Greenwood made his return to the squad after missing the last few games following a positive covid-19 test.
Carrick will have a big decision to make over united Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who was dropped to the bench in the weekend game. The Portuguese will be desperate to start against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are currently sitting right in the Premier League table, 12 points adrift table-toppers Chelsea and five points off the top four as they hope to close the gap with a victory on Thursday night.
