How Liverpool could lineup for the Merseyside derby against Everton
How Liverpool could lineup for the Merseyside derby against Everton.
Liverpool will be without five of their players once again as they tackle rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp side set a new record with the win over Southampton as they reached 39 goals from their opening 13 games of the 2021-22 league campaign, their best-ever tally at this stage of a top-flight season.
There were no fresh injury worries as Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 home victory against Southampton over the weekend. However, but Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, and Joe Gomez all remain out with injuries.
Despite the quick switch, Klopp could resist the urge to rotate for a derby. With the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson retaining their places.
Captain Virgil van Dijk will return to the place where he suffered an Achilles injury, that kept him out for a long period. He will be partnered by Ibarhima Konate.

Joel Matip may however find a place on the bench again, just like James Milner, who is still ready to deputise if Thiago Alcantara is not ready to start two games in a row.
Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane , and Mohamed Salah will form an unchanged attack for the Reds, with the trio currently Premier League top scorers.
Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane
