The seven untouchable Arsenal players under coach Mikel Arteta
Any Surprises?
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta will be faced with the challenge of choosing his first team with a number of Arsenal players set to depart the club.
The Gunners woeful start to the current season has taken a new turn in recent weeks.
Mikel Arteta’s side are unbeaten in 10 games following an impressive results against the likes of Tottenham, Leicester City, and Aston Villa.
Arsenal’s recent form will be put to test in the coming months when they face the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, and West Ham in the Premier League.
Edu and Arsenal had a very busy schedule in the summer transfer window, spending a whopping £150m to fine-tune the squad to such a level that not many of the players will be guaranteed a first-team place.
We take a look at Seven Arsenal players that will be guaranteed a place in Mikel Arteta’s team ahead of next season.
1. Aaron Ramsdale
Ramsdale joined Arsenal from Brighton as a backup goalkeeper to Bernd Leno. but surprisingly he has displaced Leno and has not looked back ever since.
He has been impressive with his aerial abilities and communication skills with the defence and Arteta has publicly praised the England International.
“We invest money in talent and people we believe can be great for the future of the club,” Arteta told reporters after Ramsdale’s wonder save against Leicester.
“We made that decision based on that and Aaron has had some really encouraging performances.”
2. Gabriel Magalhaes
The Brazilian missed the first few games of the season due to injury but has forged a strong partnership with Ben White at the heart of Arsenal’s defence.
He is expected to be the first-choice center-back alongside Ben White.
“It was a year of learning,” Gabriel told Sky Sports.
“Of course, the team had a bad run, but I started well, and overall I think it was a good year for me. I learned a lot of things and I’m a more mature player this year. I know the league better as well.”
3. Ben White
Many questioned his £50m price tag when he was signed from Brighton in the summer. However, Ben has become a key player at the back for Arsenal, partnering with Gabriel.
We brought him because we believe that he can be extraordinary,” Arteta said of White.
“He doesn’t have that much experience in the league still. He has experience with Leeds and the experience he had with Brighton for a year, so he is not mature in that sense, but he has already shown his qualities and what he can do.
4. Takehiro Tomiyasu
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna in a £17m deal. He has become a regular and has quickly settled into life in the Premier League.
“I’m very impressed, he has done it in a really natural way. It puts a smile on your face when you look at him, for how he communicates, how he is. said, Arteta.
“It’s not been easy for him, we asked him to come in and play after two days against Norwich, then we went to Burnley, then the North London Derby. a lot has happened and I am really happy with him.”
5. Thomas Partey
The Ghanian international struggled with injury in his first season at the Emirates. but he has since adapted to the new life and cemented a place in the midfield. He has been labeled as the anchor of the team by Mikel Arteta due to his dominating and passing skills.
“He is a player that has to be one of the leaders, he has to be the boss in midfield and one of the senior players that has to carry responsibility out of the young players and lead. We have been missing that big time,” said Arteta.
6. Bukayo Saka
After a tough Euro’s with England, he needed to bounce back with the support of everyone.
He has received a lot of love and support from world football, not only with Arsenal but the national team and all the English fans because he doesn’t deserve anything like he has been through,” said Arteta.
Saka remains a key member of Arsenal’s first team with his work rate and technical abilities.
7. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
The Gabon international endured a difficult start to the season. but has been in a good form recently. He has been reportedly linked with a move away from Emirates, however, he is determined to see to the end of his long contract with the club. Aubameyang is set to become the focal point with the departure of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the January transfer window.
