Luis Diaz sends warning message to Liverpool teammates amid quadruple quest
Liverpool winger, Luis Diaz has told his teammates they have “no margin for error” in their quest for the quadruple.
Having already won the Carabao Cup the Reds are aiming to land three more before the season ends, which would be a rare achievement in English football. Diaz arrived in January and has provided more stardust to an already impressive outfit.
Diaz joined the Merseyside outfit from Porto and has made an immediate impact as Liverpool set out to close down Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
The champions hold a one-point lead in the Premier League as they look to defend their title, while the Reds also have an FA Cup final with Chelsea and a semifinal champions league clash against giant-killers Villarreal.
Diaz has made it clear to his colleagues that they must win every game.
He told the club’s website: “We know that we’re pretty much obliged to win every game between now and the end of the season and we know there’s no margin of error for us.
“Each competition is different, each trophy is different and every game is different within those competitions, particularly in the Premier League. We’re treating everyone like a final and we know what we’ve got to do.
“If and when the coaching staff need to call upon me, of course, I’ll be ready and willing at all times, just like any other player that they decide to bring into their line-up.
“So, here’s hoping I can carry on in the same way, playing well and performing in the right manner so that things go well for the team. I’m here to help.”
Next game for Liverpool is the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Sunday against Everton before they take on Villarreal in the last four of the Champions League.
