Liverpool transfer: What I am told" Fabrizio Romano reveals how Liverpool players are reacting to the club's transfer target 1 Sportelo

Liverpool transfer: Famous football Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Bayern Munich are still interested in signing Liverpool’s Sadio Mane in the summer transfer window despite the Reds rejecting their initial offer

Liverpool’s star player Sadio Mane is reportedly seeking a major move away from the club after rejecting the option to sign a new agreement after a disappointing end to a stellar season in which the club missed out on the Premier League and Champions League championships.

The most significant link thus far has come from Bayern Munich, who are looking to replace Robert Lewandowski, who is due to leave the club this summer.

However, it was recently reported that the Reds turned down the Bundesliga champions’ first offer, believing that £23.5 million upfront and £6.5 million in add-ons – which included Bayern winning the Champions League and Mane winning three Ballon d’Or awards – were insufficient to secure the Senegalese star’s signature.

Since the rejection, it appears Bayern has not given up on signing Mane, who is valued at £72 million, with Romano admitting on his YouTube channel that they will go back in for the striker since Mane has given them priority over other clubs who may be interested.

“From what I’m told, even into the dressing room, they know that Sadio Mane’s priority is to join Bayern this summer said Fabrizio Romano

“The opening bid has not been accepted, Liverpool have no intention to accept this kind of proposal – €25-30m with add-ons included.

“They want guaranteed money, and they want way more than this; they want around €40-45m, but not €25m with some add-ons. This is why the negotiations are ongoing and it will continue, I’m told, in the coming days.

“So it is not over between Liverpool and Bayern because Bayern wants the player and Mane is giving priority to Bayern.”

Even with Fabio Carvalho coming in as a substitute and Luis Diaz preparing for his first full season at Anfield, losing Mane will be a significant loss to Liverpool. So, in order to sign others to replace him, getting the deserved amount of compensation for him will be crucial.

While Diaz has been outstanding since his January arrival, with six goals and four assists, he may not be enough to replace Mane.

Last season, the Senegal international scored 23 goals and added two assists in all competitions, ranking in the 99th percentile for progressive passes and non-penalty expected goals, as well as the 97th and 96th percentiles for touches in the attacking penalty area and non-penalty goals, respectively according to FBRef.
