Liverpool set to make ‘huge signing’ in £86m ‘phenomenon’ at Anfield

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Liverpool might make a “big signing” if they are successful in luring Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, who has already made an impact at Anfield.

The Reds surpassed their club record for transfer spending in the summer when they spent £85 million for Darwin Nunez, but it appears like manager Jurgen Klopp has his sights set on spending even more in the coming months.

Following a strong start to his Napoli career, Kvaratskhelia is reportedly being chased by a number of clubs, including Liverpool and Chelsea.

Along with Ligue 1’s Paris Saint-Germain and La Liga’s Real Madrid, the winger is apparently also being sought for by reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

Kvaratskhelia only moved to Napoli from Dinamo Batumi for £8.6 million during the summer, but it seems the Italian team is reluctant to part with their talisman unless they can get significantly more money than that price.

Kvaratskhelia’s contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2027, putting his current employers in a strong negotiating position.

O’Rourke believes luring Kvaratskhelia to Liverpool, ahead of other European heavyweights, would be a serious statement of intent.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT O’Rourke said “He would be a huge signing. He has probably been the most impressive player in Europe this season for Napoli, especially in the Champions League.

“Obviously, Liverpool saw him up close in those two games in the group stages, when he gave them real problems.”
