Liverpool reveals major Arthur melo plan as jurgen klopp dismisses ‘nonsense’ January transfer rumours
Liverpool have revealed Arthur Melo plan for international break as ‘nonsense’ reports dismissed by Anfield insiders
The newest allegations concerning Arthur Melo were perversely remarkable this week, even for a football media that has mastered the art of knee-jerk exaggeration.

Just two weeks into his stay at Liverpool, the former Brazil international began to wake up to the most odd rumors that Jurgen Klopp had had enough, coming from both Italy and his native country.
The sources stated that after two weeks in his new home in Merseyside, his time was up.
Any discussion of Arthur making the cut at Anfield was reportedly mere wishful thinking because Klopp was claimed to be so dissatisfied by what he had seen in a few training sessions and his 13 minutes as a substitute at Napoli.
“The Brazilian player is not at the level that was expected,” read a translated report from Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.
“He [has] played only 13 official minutes in a Reds’ shirt, but it seems to be enough to understand that he does not fit the type of player that Jurgen Klopp was looking for.”
Another report, this one from Brazil, claimed that Liverpool, despite their obvious lack of healthy midfielders, were already considering terminating the loan agreement and returning the player to Juventus. This would be a shocking and humiliating about-face for Liverpool.
Of course, such speculation is nothing new, but perhaps the speed with which it appeared is.
Only a few days have passed since Arthur joined the Reds for the season, and both the player and the coaching and fitness staff acknowledge that more work must be done to get the former Barcelona player match-fit.
Anfield insiders have reportedly dismissed the Italian reports as untrue, pointing out that he has only been a registered Liverpool player for two weeks.
He is yet to make a start, and the last time he did so was in Juventus’ 2-1 loss to Genoa in early May, when he played for an hour.
The deadline day signing missed out on a “real” preseason schedule to get match-fit because he was left out of Juventus’ summer tour of the United States.
As a result, Liverpool believes he joined at a time when his team-mates were a month ahead of him in terms of fitness.
It is why reports of an early judgement call that writes off his chances are laughable and why the upcoming international break could yet be crucial to the 26-year-old’s hopes of becoming a more important member of Klopp’s squad.
“Arthur now needs just football – and training, especially, that’s how it is,” Klopp said prior to the Napoli clash in the Champions League last week.
“He wasn’t in team training for a while at Juve, so he needs proper team training – and that’s what we are doing with him.”
During Klopp’s tenure as manager, a progressive absorption into Liverpool life has been a recurring theme.
Fabinho, who went to Merseyside in July of 2018, had to wait until late October to make his Premier League debut, while Andy Robertson had to wait until Alberto Moreno’s injury in December gave him a good opening at left-back.
Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that the new player hasn’t started any of the three games that were played when he was a rookie.
