The England international, who might leave next summer, has been linked with a number of elite European teams, including the Reds.
Bellingham is a name that has been consistently associated with Liverpool ever since his arrival at Dortmund in 2020, and the Reds are in desperate need of long-term midfield reinforcement.
Other teams with interest in him include Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Chelsea, who will reportedly compete for his services next summer.
Clubs will have a chance to sign him if he decides his future is away from Dortmund.
Bellingham spoke earlier this year about the need to “go forward” and how the Bundesliga club had developed his talent.
It is obvious that his next stop will need to demonstrate that it is a move in the right direction for the athlete rather than backwards.
“I have my destiny in my hands,” the midfielder told Ruhr Nachrichten BVB (via 90 min). “I know that if I try hard and trust the people around me, I can move forward.
“I came from England as a young talent. There was not much pressure. The first season went well. There were also matches where I sat on the bench and sometimes I did not play at all.
“I think my development this year has meant that I have played a bigger role in every game except two.
“I am very grateful to Dortmund for the way they have nurtured my talent. I think a lot of the credit goes to the coaching staff and the staff who keep the noise around me.
“In this way, I can only focus on winning matches, because that’s what I’m here for.”
Bellingham has made 100 appearances for Dortmund since joining the team two years ago, amassing 13 goals and 18 assists in the process.
In their Champions League loss to Manchester City in the middle of the week, he also scored.
The 19-year-contract old’s is valid until 2025, so Dortmund won’t be in a hurry to let go of another one of their great players.
They may find it difficult to hold onto one of the most promising young players in the game, though, as interest in him only grows.
