Liverpool receives boost in their bid to sign Bundesliga star midfielder
Liverpool have been giving a boost in their pursuit for Monchengladbach star midfielder Dennis Zakaria.
Reports coming from Germany in recent weeks have suggested that the Bundesliga club have given up on keeping the midfielder at the club.
The 25-year-old has been linked to a number of clubs enquiring into the possibility of a January move for him, a chance for Monchengladbach to at least recover some fee and for another club to perhaps jump to the front of the line for his signing.
Liverpool are one of the clubs to have reached out to Monchengladbach in a bid to bring the Switzerland international to Anfield.
The reds are not the only club interested in signing Zakaria as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Manchester United also understood to be interested in him.
Zakaria’s contract with the Prussians is set to expire in the summer according to reports.
Liverpool have been linked to Zakaria in the past, but the consensus in Germany lately has been that he is more likely to move to Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer, which could make January his best chance for the player.
The Reds are not expected to be buyers in the January market, but there is always a chance that if the right player is available, particularly one they had planned to target for a summer arrival, they could do something for them.
