Liverpool plot ‘late window signing’ with ‘two deals’ on the agenda before transfer deadline
Prior to the transfer window closing next week, Liverpool is reportedly planning “two deals” and a “late window signing.”
This month, Cody Gakpo was the only player the Reds acquired, coming from PSV Eindhoven. The attacker was previously anticipated to join Manchester United, but Liverpool acted quickly to sign him for a cost that might reach £44 million.
Liverpool is having a difficult time this year as they are now ranked ninth in the Premier League.

Since their current crop of players are out of shape or getting older, it is generally acknowledged that they are weaker in the center of the field.
Their biggest goal in that area is Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, who they intend to buy in the summer despite stiff competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City.
The summer transfer window is expected to bring in two midfielders, with Matheus Nunes of Wolves being considered as a potential third.

Liverpool is anticipated to hold off on making significant acquisitions until the summer, but according to Football Insider, the club is ‘in talks to finalize two moves’ before the January transfer window shuts.
They have “not entirely slammed the door” on a new signing, but they are “in talks to sell Nat Phillips.” When questioned about the defender’s departure earlier this week, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp remained vague.
“It depends if there are offers. We have to be prepared for pretty much everything, the 31st is deadline day and so we will see.”
‘A late window midfield loan signing is possible’ before Liverpool ‘step up the pursuit of their top midfield targets’ ahead of the summer.
As for Phillips, the report adds that ‘at least one Premier League club’ are interested in signing him permanently.
Liverpool have been impacted by injuries this term, with Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Virgil van Dijk among the players currently out of action.
Ex-Premier League defender Alan Hutton thinks Liverpool need to prioritise getting their injured players back fit over making signings.
“That is a big part of it, getting them fit,” Hutton told Football Insider.
“They know that, they have probably got one of the best medical teams around. They will be desperate to get players back but I would never say there is any team that is not looking to bring somebody in.
“Everybody is on the front foot, looking to bring in reinforcements, somebody that is going to help them improve.
“It is not about quantity, especially not for a team like Liverpool, it is about quality. Can they bring someone in who is better than what they have got and can help them improve.
“As long as they can get a target like that they will always be looking.“
