Liverpool have suffered another set back with another injury blow as Klopp sweats it out ahead of clash with Arsenal
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be pained after seeing Andy Robertson limp off during the closing stages of Scotland’s 2-0 win over Denmark on Monday evening.
Klopp will be waiting to bounce back in the Premier League after a disappointing result against West Ham last time, with Arsenal next up on Saturday.
When Robertson went down with less than 15 minutes to go at Hampden Park, many Reds fans feared the worst.
A hamstring injury would be so devastating for Klopp and Liverpool. The left-back is sure to be evaluated over the coming days, with Anfield set to host Arsenal in less than one week.
After a shocking 3-2 defeat to West Ham United before the international break, a win over the Gunners would be the perfect way to bounce back.
consecutive defeats could be damaging to Liverpool’s season, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City sure to mount a meaningful title charge.
At present in the premier league table, Thomas Tuchel’s side leads the way, while City and West Ham are closer to the top than Liverpool are.
A rising injury list is certainly not helping Klopp, with Robertson’s most recent blow adding him to a nine-strong contingent of those being treated behind the scenes.
The likes of Firmino and Harvey Elliott are certainly ruled out, while Sadio Mane also picked up a knock on international duty for Senegal.
Thankfully for the Reds, they do have a capable deputy waiting in the wings as Kostas Tsimikas was impressed when he was called into action against Atletico Madrid earlier this month.
Trent Alexander-Arnold excelled in England’s 10-0 thrashing of San Marino allowed him to rack up a sensational trio of assists, drawing praise from Gareth Southgate.
“I think for him to have an enjoyable England night was important,” the England boss told ITV.
“He’s shown some fabulous quality for his assists.
“He’ll go back tonight knowing he was a big part in what’s happened.”
