Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp made history with yesterday’s win over Atletico Madrid.
Klopp became only the fifth ever Liverpool manager to record victory in 200 games in charge of the Reds.

The German achieved it in just his 334th game in charge of The Reds, just one game less of equalling Kenny Dalglish’s record of 200 wins in 333 games.

But, while Klopp will have the 70-year-old record of 222 wins insights to overtake, he is still 200 wins away from the overall record for most wins as Liverpool manager, held by Bill Shankly with 407 wins.

Shankly managed Liverpool for 15 years between 1959 and 1974, setting them up to become one of the most successful clubs in the history of the game.

Behind him, in second place, is Tom Watson with 329 victories, and Bob Paisley with 307 victories takes third place.

Liverpool’s most successful period followed when Paisley succeeded Watson and won 20 trophies in his nine seasons at the helm of the club, between 1974 and 1983, including three European Cups and six First Division League titles.

Dalglish, also regarded as one of the greatest players in Liverpool history, was next and continued the legacy of winning great trophies during his first period as Liverpool manager, which lasted six years, until 1991.

Klopp could well end up reaching those numbers provided stays at the helm of Liverpool for close to as many years and if possible become the greatest Liverpool coach in the modern era.
