Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp drops potential transfer hint with decision during Southampton win
Jurgen Klopp stated he “hates himself” for not starting Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Southampton on Tuesday night, which could indicate a transfer.
Klopp made nine changes and utilized all of his substitutes for the trip to Saint Mary’s, but the 28-year-old still couldn’t get on the field. The German commented on the decision not to play the midfielder in his post-match press conference, according to the Liverpool Echo:

“I didn’t bring on Ox tonight, it’s unbelievable,” Klopp stated.
“I hate myself for it because he’s such a good player.”
Despite the fact that Oxlade-Chamberlain has had no injuries this season, Klopp’s decision could have been influenced by the fact that a deal for the Englishman could be on the cards this summer.
This season, the midfielder has made 29 appearances for Liverpool, 12 of which were as a substitute. So far this season, the 28-year-old has three goals and three assists, but he is nowhere near the starting eleven.
The Reds’ deal with Oxlade-Chamberlain expires next summer, and the Merseyside club may want to cash in during the forthcoming transfer season.
The former Arsenal midfielder hasn’t been connected with anyone in particular, but if word gets out that he’ll be leaving Anfield this summer, a slew of clubs will be vying for his signing.
