Liverpool have funds to complete £86m big signing this summer thanks to Julian Ward

Julian Ward appears to have pulled off an ingenious move during the negotiations to sign Darwin Nunez, allowing Liverpool to seal yet another high-profile acquisition.

The Reds have already signed Fabio Carvalho and Nunez, with Calvin Ramsay poised to join them soon after agreeing personal terms with the Aberdeen fullback.

Liverpool has shown an authority and speed in the transfer window that is rarely seen.

It’s now feasible that the Reds could complete all their incomings by the start of pre-season which would give Jurgen Klopp the best chance of getting his squad fully ready for the 2022/23 season.

A mega-money deal for Jude Bellingham is highly unlikely to be completed this summer, but Julian Ward may have played his cards brilliantly to make it possible.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool and Benfica have reached an arrangement in which Liverpool will only have to pay £47 million this summer.

The Reds negotiated to pay little over half of the money up front and the rest afterwards after agreeing to a deal worth a total of £85 million.

This means that, provided all performance-related add-ons are triggered, the Ress will have to pay £38 million in the future for Darwin Nunez.

If Borussia Dortmund makes Jude Bellingham available, a deal to sign him is possible knowing that Liverpool didn’t waste their whole transfer budget this summer.

Cadena Ser reports that Liverpool have already made a €100million bid for the midfielder.

According to the Liverpool Echo, it has become a priority for Jurgen Klopp to upgrade his midfield this summer.

A move for the England international this summer is unlikely unless Borussia Dortmund have a change of mind.
