Jude Bellingham’s family finally decides where their son will be moving to next summer between Liverpool and Real Madrid
Jude Bellingham’s family have reportedly signalled their approval of a move to Liverpool over Real Madrid, with the Premier League side considered favourites to sign the England star in the summer.
Since joining Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga in 2020, the 19-year-old has excelled, and his reputation has been further reinforced by a string of strong performances for England at the World Cup in Qatar.
Sport Bild editor Christian Falk claims that Bellingham and Liverpool have progressed their negotiations, and that Bellingham’s family is pleased about the move.
Reports suggests Liverpool are also ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester City in the race for him.
Chelsea are also expected to in the race for the teenager, as they seek to overhaul the centre of their midfield.
Paris Saint Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi yesterday declared the Ligue 1 champions interested in signing Bellingham
Bellingham has previously explained how his family influenced his love of the game, reminiscing about how his mother Denise used to take him to see his father Mark play in the non-league.
In over 900 appearances for clubs including Leamington, Stourbridge, and Sutton Coldfield Town, Mark Bellingham scored more than 700 goals.
He balanced both his day job as a sergeant with the West Midlands Police and his non-league career.
‘It’s where I started to get that love for football,’ Jude Bellingham told the Guardian in 2020. ‘I think you can see in the way I play that I’ve watched the game from a young age.
‘That non-league style of toughness and being gritty when you need to be… I do think that comes from watching my dad play – even though he never tackled!’
Despite reports in Germany that Dortmund would demand over £130million for Bellingham next year, there are strong rumours of a release clause in his contract.
Bellingham’s status has continued to rise having forced his way into England manager Gareth Southgate’s starting eleven.

The teenager scored his first senior international goal when he headed home Luke Shaw’s cross in England’s 6-2 win over Iran in their opening World Cup group game.
Bellingham produced an outstanding display in England’s last-16 win over Senegal, assisting Jordan Henderson’s opening goal in the 3-0 triumph.
Bellingham, who has become close buddies with Henderson during the competition, insisted that the Liverpool captain be treated with “more respect” following the win over Senegal.
Bellingham will “keep going from strength to strength and being a big player for England,” according to Henderson.
Social media claims that Trent Alexander-Arnold and Henderson are both trying to persuade Bellingham to move to Merseyside have followed England’s progress through the tournament.
