Jude Bellingham set for stunning Liverpool move, following quiet deadline day

Liverpool didn’t make any midfield acquisitions in January, but is gearing up for the big summer transfer of Jude Bellingham.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal all added a midfielder before the transfer window closed. Jorginho was acquired by the Gunners from the Blues, who will thereafter be acquiring Enzo Fernandez for a British record amount.

As a replacement for the hurt Christian Eriksen, Man United has been trying to sign Marcel Sabitzer.

But despite Liverpool’s evident need for reinforcements, nobody has joined the team this month to strengthen the middle of the park. Now, it has been asserted that everything is part of the strategy.

The Liverpool Echo(opens in new tab) reports that Jude Bellingham will still be targeted in the summer in what they refer to as “football’s worst-kept secret.”

Liverpool are in the lead to sign the adolescent, according to Fabrizio Romano(opens in new tab), who was a guest on the YouTube channel Born and Red(opens in new tab) on Monday night.

While the revelation may not provide much comfort to Reds supporters hoping for a midseason addition to change the team’s fortunes this season.

Bellingham is still looking like he could move to Merseyside this summer as part of a transfer that could break Liverpool’s record – and the club are happy to wait for him rather than sign the wrong player this window.

Klopp previously ruled out any new signings before Tuesday’s deadline, with attacker Cody Gakpo the only new face this month.
