Speaking with BBC Sport, the captain of Scotland said:

“It’s a massive game, of course it is. We need to try and get consistency back into our game, into our performances. That’s what we have been lacking this season.

“Obviously a game against City will always be difficult, they are flying this season, playing really well, difficult to play against. But us at our best can always compete.

“We have to be like that. If we are anything below that it will be a difficult afternoon but if we are at our best then we know we can cause problems to any team. That’s what we have to aim for.”

Any team needs consistency, but given this season’s stop-start nature, Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his squad can follow up a significant victory in Scotland with a successful outcome at Anfield.

Although there will be a significant gap in skill between the Glasgow-based team and the English team that is now crowned champions, our prospects of winning shouldn’t change.

The squad will benefit from the return of our No. 26 from injury, and let’s hope it gives us enough of a boost to walk off the field with all three points.

Despite not being the favorites coming into the game, our home crowd will be there, and we all understand the impact that our fans can have.

Despite a lot of criticism surrounding recent performances, a victory over Pep Guardiola’s club will help our star-studded team regain its confidence and belief.
