Liverpool and their new summer transfer target Matheus Nunes are in negotiations although Manchester City are also reported to have keen interest in the youngster in order to bolster their midfield department.
Although Liverpool has already added three new players this summer and is now on a preseason tour of Thailand, the club may soon add a fourth.

According to 90min, the Merseyside club has gotten in touch with Matheus Nunes’ agents and shown interest in signing him this summer.
According to the source, Liverpool is prepared to compete with Manchester City for the signing of the Portuguese midfielder, who may be available for €40 million (£33.8 million).
Following the club’s record-breaking signing of Darwin Nunez this summer, it is said that Liverpool is prioritizing strengthening their midfield. Nunes could be the ideal choice for Jurgen Klopp’s team as they continue their quest for more trophies.
During a fruitful attacking campaign, the Sporting CP star scored three goals, provided two assists, created six excellent chances, and successfully completed the majority of his dribbles (70 percent).
He was also successful defensively, recording an average of 1.3 tackles and 0.9 interceptions per game while winning the majority of his duels (55 percent) throughout the course of 33 league matches.
Goncalo Santos, a former teammate, provided the Liverpool Echo with the following assessment of Nunes’ abilities:
“It’s unbelievable when he has the ball at his feet. Nobody can catch him; it’s impossible because he’s too fast.
“If you are in the defensive phase and he gets the ball, he can run with it and fire the team 30 yards up the pitch because he is so good in possession.”
According to SofaScore, Nunes’ primary strengths are his long balls and ball control, with a 92 percent pass accuracy in his own half during his appearances in Liga Portugal. If he were to join the Reds, Nunes and Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara would make a potent midfield duo.
If FSG are serious about signing the player, they will need to move quickly to prevent Nunes from joining their league rivals.
The 23-year-old dynamo, who journalist Zach Lowry called “very promising,” has been attracting interest from both the Champions League finalists and the Premier League champions.
Thus, FSG might not only strengthen their midfield this summer by signing Nunes but also could steal him from man city.
