We previously covered a report from Spain that said the Reds were one among the clubs vying to recruit the Slovenian international.
However, according to recent sources, Man Utd are the front-runners to sign the 19-year-old center forward.
According to a report from the reputable Spanish publication Sport (via The Faithful), the Red Devils have taken the lead in luring the young phenom by speaking with his agent.
The Catalan media outlet reported that Man Utd is willing to accept a cost of £42 million (50 million euros), which is the price at which RB Salzburg has determined it is appropriate to sell their prized asset during the current transfer window.
Sesko was quite good in a recent friendly match against the Reds; he scored the game-winning goal and was named Man of the Match.
Darwin Nunez is a top-notch striker that Jurgen Klopp signed this summer, but depth is an issue after losing three dynamic forwards in Mane, Origi, and Minamino.
Additionally, it should be kept in mind that Diogo Jota, a Portuguese star who recently signed a rich contract with the Merseysiders, is now sidelined due to injury.
