“I like Jude” – Jordan Henderson has revealed private talks with Jude Bellingham after showering him with praise amid heavy Liverpool links
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has heaped huge praise on his England teammate Jude Bellingham but is remaining cautious about hyping up the 19-year-old too much.
The Borussia Dortmund star is reportedly Liverpool’s top transfer target, either in January or at the end of the current campaign.
However, the Reds won’t be the only team interested in signing the teenager.
The youngster’s recent performances for club and country have shown how talented he is, and the Reds captain has now spoken out about the former Birmingham City star.
The young man’s recent achievements for club and country have demonstrated how brilliant he is, and the Reds captain has now spoken on the former.
“I like Jude, I think he’s an amazing player,” Henderson told The Mirror (via the Express).
“He’s a fantastic professional and his mentality is really key for his development.
“I almost don’t want to big him up too much because he’s still a young lad! There will be a lot of pressure on him at a young age, but of course he’s a top, top player, and I’m sure he’ll have a big part to play in Qatar.”
After Bellingham put on yet another strong performance during the 3-3 draw between England and Germany on Monday night at Wembley, Henderson came on to replace him.
Henderson is a fair bet to make Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar at the end of the year.
The Englishman’s performance against the Germans was flawless; he stopped a number of seemingly deadly raids from the visitors and then assisted his team’s advancement up the field with strong midfield runs and deft passing, in addition to winning a penalty that Harry Kane converted.
Henderson is a player who can manage pressure, and it appears that their time together with the Three Lions has led to the development of a strong friendship.
If their star midfielder decides to leave, Borussia Dortmund is expected to seek a sum of around £130 million, but given that he still has more than a decade of productive years ahead of him, the price seems reasonable.
