Jude Bellingham delivers blunt message amid Liverpool transfer links

Liverpool continues to be linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star midfielder Jude Bellingham.

In wake of speculations linking him to Liverpool, Jude Bellingham has disclosed the high expectations he sets for both himself and his teammates.

The Borussia Dortmund youngster is still being linked to the Reds as a potential signing. Bellingham has been linked with a lot of the top clubs in Europe since speculation over his future is widespread.

Along with Liverpool, Bellingham has also been mentioned in connection with teams like Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Manchester United. The 19-year-old World Cup performances for England in Qatar have boosted his market value.

While at a training camp in Marbella with the Dortmund team, Bellingham gave an interview. The midfielder has discussed the high standards he sets for himself, demonstrating to potential suitors what they would get if a deal were to be struck.

“You have to live with the fact that when you look at the table it says that Borussia Dortmund are in sixth [placed],” Bellingham told the club’s media.

“There’s no way we should be there in the table given the talent, and no disrespect to the teams above us right now.

“But I feel, in terms of the quality and in terms of player depth in positions, we should be a lot higher than what we are.

“And I’m not afraid to say to the lads and the staff, because that’s where our ambitions should be.

“But it’s about doing instead of talking.”

Bellingham has excelled for both club and country this year. His nine goals for Dortmund this season are already a career-high, and he scored his first goal at the World Cup for his country against Iran.

Given that Liverpool had paid a lot of money in January to bring Cody Gakpo to Anfield, any transfer for Jude Bellingham seems unlikely to happen until the summer. Over the weekend, the Dutch international made his club debut by playing 84 minutes of the FA Cup tie against Wolves.
