“He’s magnificent” – Watch Jurgen Klopp reveals he ‘wants’ £54m ‘next’ signing for player better than Erling Haaland’
Liverpool is apparently joining Manchester United in the pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg attacker Benjamin Sesko, who scored against the Reds in a friendly last week.
The 19-year-old is said to be worth €65 million (£54 million), and seven teams are reportedly keeping a close eye on him, according to the Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Jürgen Klopp is reportedly a big fan of the player who has been dubbed the “next Erling Haaland.”
Liverpool won’t be spending large on a number nine this summer after already spending a lot on Darwin Nunez, but Sesko is one to watch as another quality potential from Austria emerges.
According to rumors from Spain, Red Bull Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko has Liverpool among his fans.
Sesko, who was acquired by Salzburg in 2019 for £2.25 million, has thrived in Austria and had a standout time with FC Liefering, where he scored 22 goals and provided six assists in 44 appearances during two loan spells.
Despite still being a young player, the 19-year-old Slovenian international has made a name for himself in the club and national senior XI, garnering interest from teams like Newcastle, Manchester United, Wolves, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig.
Although there is never a terrible moment to purchase hot commodities like Sesko, it seems highly improbable that FSG would approve another significant investment on a striker so soon after signing Darwin Nunez this summer.
