“He is the heart and soul of this team” – Watch Jurgen Klopp rules out summer transfer of incredible Liverpool star as he makes his final decision
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has ruled out selling Roberto Firmino during the current summer transfer window.
Although there have been rumors that the Brazilian forward will leave Anfield, Klopp has emphasized the importance of the forward to the current lineup.
Jurgen Klopp made the following remarks to the media prior to the FA Community Shield matchup versus Manchester City (via Liverpool Echo):
“Bobby is crucial for us, he is the heart and soul of this team. Everything looks really good. He is essential for us.”
Given the way things are going, it appears like Jurgen Klopp has ideas on how to deploy Firmino in the upcoming campaign.
The Brazilian forward is a special kind of forward who links wide players with the midfield to excel in attack.
The 2021–22 season was marred by injuries for Roberto Firmino. In all competitions, the forward was only able to make 35 appearances for the Reds.
In a 5-0 victory over Watford, the Brazilian did manage to score 11 goals and contribute five assists, including a hat-trick.
Currently, Roberto Firmino’s contract with the club has just one year left on it. Due to his contract predicament, there have been rumors about his future in Merseyside.
The offensive trio of Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah all had contracts that were set to expire in the summer of 2023 earlier this summer.
Salah, meanwhile, received a new three-year deal, and Sadio Mane joined Bayern Munich.
In the meanwhile, Firmino’s future is still hazy.
Recent sources claim that Juventus, a Serie A powerhouse, have been mentioned as a possible destination for Firmino in a move costing about €23 million.
