FSG ready to make Mohamed Salah highest- paid Liverpool player ever but on one condition
FSG is set to make Liverpool star Mohamed Salah the best paid player in the history of the club.
Fenway Sports Group is willing to make Red Superstar Mohamed Salah the highest-paid Liverpool player ever but not at the cost of disrupting their wage structure according to Athletic.
The Egyptian international has been in good form for the Reds since joining Roma over 4 years ago showing levels of consistency that has elevated him to superstardom at Anfield.
Salah’s current contract is set to expire in 2023 and Liverpool is keen on extending the deal 29-year-old on a long-term. However, there seems to be a contract stand-off between the player and the club due to disagreements regarding the wages offered.
Being regarded as one of the world’s best players, Salah expects to be paid by his status as he hopes to stay beyond 2023.
Liverpool owners FSG are clearly ready to make him the highest-paid player at Liverpool, but not at astronomical wages and certainly not at the expense of their pay structure which has served them so well over the years.
The Reds will do everything possible not to let their Talismans leave for free in the summer of 2023, but if a conclusion is not reached before that day they will have no other alternative.
Salah is by far the most important Liverpool player at the moment and has been brilliant this season, already reaching 20 goals for the campaign in the Premier League.
Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp hopes a solution to the Salah saga will be found as soon as possible, and above all a conclusion favourable to him and the Reds. The problems off the pitch don’t seem to have any bearing on the Egyptian’s performance, but he also wants clarity about his future quickly.
Offering the 29-year-old a long term contract may be a risk the Reds are willing to take. The big question is not if Salah deserves the huge pay he is asking for, but will FSG grant his request?
