Fabrizio Romano finally reveals the playe Liverpool will sign in  January ‘contacts’ claim made

Liverpool are “had some contracts” and hunting for great prospects in the market, according to Fabrizio Romano, who has once again weighed in on the transfer situation.

Jude Bellingham is allegedly top of Jurgen Klopp’s list for the Reds’ “main focus” this summer, which is still to sign a “great midfielder.”

“In January, it will be about the opportunities. I think they need some fresh players to help faJurgen Klopp,” the reliable Italian journalist told Give Me Sport.

“They’re exploring the market.

“They’re having some contacts to see if there are some good opportunities, but the main focus will be on the new midfielder, a top midfielder, in the summer.”

It would be surprising if the Premier League-based team came out of the winter transfer window without making any additions, given how inconsistent the midfield department has been for much of the season.

Given the talent at his disposal, it’s more than likely that Fabinho will return from the World Cup with a renewed sense of purpose and, ideally, more consistent performances on the field.

However, it would be a terrible risk to take not to bring in some cover for the holding midfield position given that Brazil is thought to be one of the leading contenders for the World Cup title.

Red fans should not be too worried about the former Monaco player’s Anfield career coming to an end at 29 years old, but little future planning in that area would hurt their prospects of playing in the top four this season.
