Darwin Núñez sends message to Liverpool fans as he’s set to Travel for Medical After Fee and Contract Reportedly Agreed
While there is no formal confirmation from Liverpool, all indications point to a completed transfer for the Uruguayan striker.
Darwin Nunez is likely to become Liverpool’s most expensive summer acquisition, with the Reds breaking the club transfer record to sign the 22-year-old striker from Benfica for £85 million (€100 million) with add-ons.

While there is no official word from Liverpool, sources in Uruguay claim that the transaction is now finalized, and that the player will travel to England to have a physical and sign a five-year contract with the Premier League team.
On Friday, Canal Uruguay journalist Sebas Giovanelli, one of approximately a hundred people Nez follows on Twitter—said the player would be a Red and Jürgen Klopp would be his future coach.
A few hours later, the owner of UD Almerica in La Liga the club that brought Nunez to Europe from Pearol in Uruguay and is due to collect 20% of the profit from the sale sent out his own confirmation of the purchase on social media.
On Friday evening, Tenfield Uruguay writer Diego Jokas reported that the sum had been agreed upon, a base of £68 million (€80 million) plus £17 million (€20 million) in possible add-ons—and that the player will now travel to finalise the deal.
While all transfers carry some risk, it’s an unmistakable show of determination from Liverpool as they prepare for life without Sadio Mané and stay up with Manchester City, who just concluded a deal to sign Erling Haaland.
