Cody Gakpo sends message to Liverpool star as transfer edges closer

Liverpool FC have agreed on a £37 million deal to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a remarkable World Cup with the Netherlands, helping them advance to the round of eight. Gakpo was successful in scoring three goals for his nation in Qatar.

The player has been in excellent form this season for PSV as well, tallying 13 goals and 17 assists across all competitions.

The adaptable attacker will want to get off to a fast start in the Premier League as well.

The 23-year-old has since messaged fellow countryman and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk on social media.

Gakpo responded to Virgil van Dijk’s post about Liverpool’s triumph at Villa Park with a clapping and a fire emoji after last night’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old and his teammate from abroad will shortly rejoin at Liverpool.

It would be fascinating to see whether the player is made available for Liverpool’s upcoming game after the player is anticipated to complete the transfer paperwork this week.
