Chelsea set to hijack Liverpool star summer transfer target

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

Chelsea could frustrate Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans to sign Jude Bellingham, as the Blues are said to have a long-term interest in the youngster.

Bellingham was a product of Birmingham City’s youth system before joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2020.

Bellingham, who is only 18 years old, is regarded as a generational talent who made his Championship debut for Birmingham City at the age of 16. Before going on to star in Germany, he made 44 appearances for St Andrews.

In 89 games for Dortmund, the midfielder has registered 10 goals and 18 assists and has been a standout performer in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League over the last two seasons. He’s also a mainstay in Gareth Southgate’s England side, having earned 15 caps for his country.

Bellingham is expected to join Liverpool at some point in the future. Chelsea, though, have been interested in signing the youngster for a long time, according to football. london, and have watched him play at Birmingham.

And it may be a setback for Klopp, who would undoubtedly relish the thought of having such a gifted player at the heart of his Reds.

Bellingham’s contract with Dortmund runs until 2025, thus he is unlikely to leave this summer. However, as his contract expires in the coming years, he will attract a lot of attention, and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.

Chelsea has a reputation for being prepared to spend a lot of money on excellent players. However, they are now under new ownership, so it is unclear whether they will continue to be so rash in the transfer market.

Liverpool, on the other hand, has built a reputation for clever transfer dealings. When the appropriate players come along, they don’t run out of money.
