Chelsea owner Todd Boehly sends subtle transfer message over Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold

The two English defenders, who are both renowned for having an impact for their respective teams in the final third, continue to be disputed by fans of both Liverpool and Londoners.
Alexander-Arnold hasn’t done much so far this season to divert attention from his positional discipline after a number of subpar performances for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
He is frequently criticized by opposing fans for what they perceive to be a lack of defensive awareness.
Gareth Southgate’s top choice for England has remained James, however Kyle Walker also appears to be ahead of Liverpool’s homegrown hero in the hierarchy.
It goes without saying that Chelsea supporters will tend to favor James when evaluating Alexander-skill Arnold’s set, and it appears that the new owner of the London club shares this opinion.
In response to a tweet asking followers to support James or retweet Liverpool’s No. 66 to determine which right-back is the finest, the American chose the retweet to show his support for the 22 year old Trent Alexander Arnold.
Despite the rivalry that exists between them, James defended Alexander-Arnold earlier this year by asserting that those who question the full-back for Liverpool’s defense “don’t really know the game.”
“I make mistakes as well. I gave away a penalty against Hungary so we are both still learning our trade,” he said. “Liverpool have 95% of the ball and he defends less than I have to.
“People have a lot of stuff to say and don’t really know the game. Trent is a great player.”
James will have hopes of being Southgate’s go-to option at this year’s World Cup despite his respect for Liverpool’s local hero and has insisted he will do everything in his power to be starting matches in Qatar.
He said: “I’ll try everything I can [to be first choice]. Only my performances will be able to prove what I can bring. In these games and building into next season I’ll hopefully be able to show that I’m ready to play every game.”
