Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez have joined Liverpool and Manchester City, and Alan Shearer offers his assessment on their EPLA arrivals.

Alan Shearer, the all-time leading scorer in the Premier League, has commented on the two significant additions made by Manchester City and Liverpool.

The two greatest purchases of the summer transfer window were from Liverpool and Manchester City, who both acquired Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

When the Premier League season begins, Haaland and Nunez, in Alan Shearer’s opinion, will exceed the expectations of their respective clubs and give defenders nightmares.

Shearer spoke on Sky Sports about his thoughts on Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland joining Liverpool and Manchester City, respectively, and what it means for the next English Premier League season.

“Two huge signings. Two fantastic players. I’m certain both players will score a lot of goals in the Premier League and will make their clubs better.

“I’ve seen bits of them in the Champions League, obviously.

“It’s great for the Premier League that their clubs are able to attract those kind of players and I look forward to watching them a lot next season.

”They’ve both (Liverpool and Manchester City) had success last season and when you win things you’ve got to go out and strengthen.

“With the turnover of (Sadio) Mane, Liverpool had to bring someone big in to try and replace him, because he’s (Mane) been an unbelievable player for them. I look forward to watching the next season.”

During his two and a half seasons at Borussia Dortmund, the 21-year-old international from Norway scored 83 goals in 87 games.

Haaland’s transfer to the Etihad Stadium was paid for by Manchester City for $51 million.

Liverpool signed Benfica star Darwin Nunez in a deal costing £85 million in order to compete with their rivals.

In the just-completed season, the Uruguayan scored 34 goals for the Portuguese team.
