Renowned Journalist provides the latest transfer update as Liverpool superstar edges closer to exit

According to GOAL’s Neil Jones, Liverpool will not sanction a trade for Bayern Munich target Sadio Mane unless a replacement is found.

Mane’s current contract with the Reds expires in a year, and he has yet to agree to a new one.

In recent weeks, the Senegal international’s contract predicament at Anfield has sparked conjecture about his future.

Mane is reportedly being courted by Bayern Munich ahead of the 2022-23 season.

According to Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg, the Bavarians might sign the forward for an initial fee of €30 million.

Jones has now corroborated claims circulating in Germany, stating that Mane would inform Liverpool of his desire to depart this summer.

Bayern Munich is the favourites to sign him, according to the GOAL journalist.

According to Jones, the Reds would seek a sum far in excess of the rumoured €30 million for Mane.

Before moving the 30-year-old, Jurgen Klopp’s team is thought to be looking for a replacement. On Twitter, he wrote:

“Sadio Mane is set to inform Liverpool of his desire to leave the club this summer. Bayern Munich [are] favorites to sign him, but the Reds would demand well more than the €30m price suggested (no official bid yet) and would want to have a replacement lined up before selling.”
