Raheem Sterling sends Liverpool a timely transfer message as he makes clear change in Man City vs. Liverpool draw
Manchester City super star Raheem Sterling has sent Liverpool a timely transfer message in the draw with Manchester City, making a clear change in his behaviour towards his former side.
Emotions are still running over Raheem Sterling at Liverpool even after leaving for 7 years. The timing of his departure, considering the club’s predicaments at the time, was a cruel blow to the Anfield outfit who were already on the ropes.

Sterling has become quite villain for Liverpool. A man who would go onto tease supporters declaring that ‘no one wants’ Liverpool to lift the Premier League title back in 2019. Before zooming off to celebrate in the previous three occasions on which he scored against the club, showing no respect to the club that helped him in his formative years.
But in recent years, there has been an evident change in Sterling’s demeanour both on and off the pitch. Just a year after his ‘no one wants’ Liverpool to lift the title comments, Sterling was more affectionate about his former employers on an Instagram live during the middle of the pandemic.
“Would I ever go back to Liverpool? To be honest with you, I love Liverpool,” Sterling said back in 2020.
“Don’t get it twisted, they are always in my heart, do you know what I mean? It’s a team that (has) done a lot for me growing up.”
During the man city draw at the Etihad on Sunday, even after Sterling saw the absence of the linesman’s flag, his celebration for City’s third goal, which was later ruled out by VAR, was visibly muted. Especially, considering the magnitude of the goal.
The young englishman Sterling showed a level of respect he has very rarely done previously to Liverpool.
Perhaps that’s a sign of maturity or a reflection of the fierce rivalry between the two sides, which has been replaced by mutual appreciation of the other. Perhaps he simply expected VAR to intervene.
