Geroginio Wijnaldum makes feeling known about a possible return to Liverpool after transfer mistake
Liverpool Fc have been alerted as Gini Wijnaldum is set to be available in the summer transfer market as PSG looks to sell the former Red star.
PSG are set to release several players following their exit from the Champions League after losing to Real Madrid in the Round of 16, with many of their key players set for the exit door.
It is alleged that Wijnaldum is one of those individuals who has struggled during his debut season at the Parc des Princes after leaving Liverpool as a free agent in the summer.
The Netherlands international and Mauricio Pochettino’s men acknowledge it is a move that has failed for both sides, if the Ligue 1 club plans to cut their losses in the window, according to L’Equipe, via Sport Witness .
It is claimed that Wijnaldum ‘still has a market value’ in England and should be able to find a new club in the Premier League.
Wijnaldum enjoyed a standout performance for the Reds during his time at Anfield and a reunion could be on the cards.
Before his departure, Wijnaldunm revealed that he would love to return to Merseyside as a supporter one day, showing that he clearly still holds the club in high regard.
“If it’s possible, I would love to come back,” he said before his final game for the club. “The feeling I have, the feeling my family has with this club, is only good things.
“I hope that it would be possible that I come back to watch a game and support Liverpool because I will be a Liverpool supporter for life.”
Wijnaldum said in October he was “not quite happy” at PSG as he struggled for playing time, something that has not improved over the season.
He told NOS: “I can’t say I’m completely happy because the situation is not what I wanted.
“But that’s football and I’ll have to learn to deal with that. I’m a fighter. I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around.
“I have played a lot in recent years, was always fit and also did very well. This is something different and that takes getting used to.
“I was really looking forward to the new step and then this happens. It is very difficult.”
