According to rumors in Spain, Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr’ rejected’ offers from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea in favor of signing a new contract at the Bernabeu.

Last week, Marca reported that the 21-year-old is set to sign a new long-term contract with the La Liga and Champions League champions, which is due to be unveiled next month.

He is said to have a €1 billion (£870 million) buy-out clause, making him ‘one of the best paid’ players at the club.

The winger’s current contract expires in 2024, although his form last season is thought to have piqued the interest of clubs all around Europe.

Another team said to be interested in the midfielder, who was instrumental in Real Madrid’s La Liga and Champions League triumphs, is Paris Saint-Germain.

The English trio ‘registered’ their interest in Vinicius, according to Marca, but were told it was the Brazilian’s ‘priority’ to stay with his current club. He is now expected to devote his future to Real Madrid for at least the next four years, according to reports.

The winger has made 170 appearances for the Spanish giants since signing from Flamengo in 2018. In that time, he’s scored 36 goals and added 43 assists.

Vinicius also shone in the Champions League final in May, when Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 1-0 at the Stade de France to win the title for the fourteenth time.

On 59 minutes, he struck the game-winning goal, eluding Trent Alexander-Arnold and slotting his strike past Alisson at the back post.

After completing the signing of Luis Diaz from Porto in January, Liverpool’s attack is well-stocked. They’ve also acquired Darwin Nunez of Benfica to their ranks as they attempt to compete on all fronts next season.
