(VIDEO) Watch:Cameroon vs Serbi Goals and Extended Highlights: Indomitable Lions launch fightback In a six goal thriller against Serbia

Cameroon survived what would have been a World Cup defeat against Serbia that would have tied the record, thanks to a spectacular second-half comeback led by Vincent Aboubakar.

With the Indomitable Lions trailing 3-1 and facing their sixth straight loss in the competition going back to 2002, the seasoned attacker stepped off the bench.

However, on the 64th minute, Aboubakar lobbed Serbia goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to make it 3-2 before setting up Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting to score the equaliser two minutes later.

Jean-Charles Castelletto’s flick-on from a corner gave Cameroon, who had previously lost 1-0 to Switzerland, the advantage in the 29th minute.

But Serbia came back strongly with two goals in extra time at the end of the first half after being defeated 2-0 by title favourites Brazil in their opening game.

Strahinja Pavlovic scored the opening goal from a free-kick, and two minutes later Sergej Milinkovic-Savic hammered a low left-foot effort into the right corner.

Aleksandar Mitrovic doubled Serbia’s advantage with his 51st international goal after previously hitting the post and missing two more opportunities, but the Fulham striker couldn’t save the game in the dying moments as he curled another shot wide.

It now poses a challenge for both teams to advance from Group G, with Brazil and Switzerland, who play later today, in a strong position to advance to the round of 16.
