Frenkie de Jong, who is reportedly a target for a transfer to Liverpool, has stirred more rumors about his future after landing at an airport.
As the Reds appear to pick up their search for a midfielder, the Barcelona star has been mentioned as a potential target in recent days. Liverpool may “move for a midfielder” before the transfer season closes, Jurgen Klopp acknowledged this week.

One of the people mentioned in connection with a transfer to Liverpool is De Jong. The other two teams expected to make a move this summer are Chelsea and Manchester United, with a £60 million price tag cited in some sources.
De Jong has been seen traveling to the airport in Barcelona as rumors over his future seem to intensify.
Yet another ESPN article asserts to have information that might put any Premier League team’s transfer dreams in jeopardy.
They claim that Barcelona has given their players a few days off and that De Jong’s trip to London has nothing to do with transfers. Teammate Memphis Depay is also said to be traveling with De Jong.
Additionally, according to a story in The Athletic, De Jong is destined to remain at Barcelona this summer.
According to reports, only Chelsea has a chance to sign the midfielder, and a stay at Barcelona is the most likely outcome.
As a result, a transfer to Liverpool now seems unlikely.
It is suggested that the Netherlands midfielder does not want to leave the club but he might have to. Xavi, speaking after Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls, said:
“I don’t know if he’s [De Jong] going to stay here. There’s still time and a lot of things can still happen. At the moment he’s part of the team, like everyone else.
“The fact that he played as a central defender in the other games was not a sign that he was leaving. I don’t need to send signals on the pitch. I can speak directly with my footballers.”
