(Video) Watch Bobby Firmino finally breaks silence on Arrival of Darwin nunez with an unselfish approach to the ‘competition’ as Nunez is set to start ahead of him
Bobby Firmino has made a career out of giving of himself to his teammates, and as he spoke about his friendship with Darwin Nunez, this selflessness was once again on display.
Speaking with Sky Sports, the 30-year-old said: “[Darwin Nunez] is a good friend and I think he’ll help us a lot.
“Obviously, there’s always going to be competition in every position, but we’re a team and what counts is what’s best for Liverpool, getting the three points and what’s best for the team.
“It comes down to the coach’s decision, I’m always going to give my all so I can stand the best chance of playing.”
However, it’s also simple to assert that your main focus is on the team getting a result. It would be so simple to make headlines for others by saying that our No. 9 wanted to be the main man.
Given that the Brazilian is innately self-sacrificing, there is no reason to suspect that these are anything other than his own sentiments.
He will serve as a mentor to the 23-year-old, and we can only hope that their connection will be fantastic both on and off the field.
“He’s a good friend, and I think he’ll help us a lot! 🇧🇷🤝🇺🇾
