The dreadful loss Liverpool suffered against Brighton & Hove Albion, in Jurgen Klopp’s opinion, marks a new low in his managing career.

And the Reds manager rejected claims that the defeat was a “one-off” as his team’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League took another severe hit.

At the AMEX Stadium on Saturday night, two goals in the second half from Solly March and another from substitute Danny Welbeck condemned Liverpool to a 3-0 Premier League loss.

In response, Klopp expressed his deep concern by evaluating the reverse without comparison over the course of his 22 years as manager.

“It’s my job to make the right line-up and set up the right tactics,” said the Reds boss. “I had really nice moments doing that but, I’m not sure if it’s because it’s only a few minutes since the game, but I can’t remember a worse game.

“I honestly can’t and I mean all (my career) not only Liverpool and that’s my responsibility. So that makes it a really low point.”
