Sadio Mane reveals the amount of money Liverpool will have to pay him in order to stay

According to The Mirror, Sadio Mane has made a huge wage demand in exchange for a new deal with Liverpool.

The forward’s contract with the club expires at the end of next season, and reports linking him to Bayern Munich have come true, with the German champions offering him nearly £17 million per year, or over £325,000 per week.

The Senegalese international’s expectations are similar to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who wants to earn around £400,000 per week.

Both are nearing 30 this summer, and with time running out, they see their next agreement as the most important and consequential of their careers. Both feel they have joined the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Kevin De Bruyne, Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann, and David de Gea, who all earn more than £350,000 a week.

Liverpool is significantly more cautious to pay high wages than the free-spending Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Barcelona. They have a clear pay structure that includes performance bonuses.

Virgil van Dijk is Liverpool’s highest-paid player, earning £220,000 per week without bonuses, a figure that would have been even higher if the Reds had achieved the incredible quadruple.

The Reds are not willing to spend a fortune on base salary due to the shortcomings of their northern rivals Manchester United.

Mane and Salah are already established at the top of the game, but Alexis Sanchez, Edinson Cavani, Radamel Falcao, and others arrived on large contracts and failed to impress at Old Trafford.

They are undeniably at the top of their game, but at 30 years old, it’s tough to say how long that peak will endure.
