Real Madrid star sends warning message to Mohamed Salah after ‘revenge’ message ahead of Champions League final

After Mohamed Salah’s “revenge” comment concerning the Champions League final, Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has sent him a stern message.

Liverpool will face Los Blancos in the Champions League final in Paris. Liverpool will be looking to win their seventh title, while Real Madrid will be hoping to win the competition for the record 14th time.

Salah was in the headlines after he stated that he wanted to play Real Madrid in the final. His comments came after Liverpool defeated Villarreal and before Madrid’s semi-final second leg against Manchester City.

The Egyptian told BT Sport: “I want to play Madrid, I have to be honest. City is a really tough team, we played against them a few times this season.

“I think personally, I would prefer Madrid. We lost in the final to them so I want to play against them and hopefully win it.”

After Madrid came back from the brink to beat City in the second leg, Salah then put on social media: “We have a score to settle.”

Mohamed Salah was forced out of the first half of the 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kyiv with a shoulder injury

The Egyptian was known to have been forced out of the first half of the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv with a shoulder injury sustained following a tussle with Sergio Ramos, as Loris Karius’s horror show saw Jurgen Klopp’s side fall to a 3-1 defeat.

Also, Madrid knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League at the quarter-finals stage last year, progressing 3-1 on aggregate with Salah scoring the Reds’ goal in Spain.

Carvajal has reacted to Salah’s statements by saying he understands the Egyptian’s desire to face Real Madrid in the final once more. Salah, according to the Spaniard, should not be a “burden” if he loses another final to Madrid.

“I don’t know if Salah or Liverpool are in the mood for revenge,” Carvajal told Spanish news outlet ABC .

“It is true that when you lose a Champions League final you always want to have a second chance against that same team in order to beat them.

“Let’s hope it’s not an important burden for Salah to lose a second Champions League final against Real Madrid.”
