Liverpool Transfer: Reds to speed up deal to sign top Real Madrid target

In light of reports that Real Madrid has dispatched an emissary to Germany to meet the England international, Liverpool are allegedly prepared to step up their attempts to sign Jude Bellingham.

In order to complete the signing of Bellingham, who is Liverpool’s top target for the summer transfer window and a player that several of Europe’s top clubs, including Madrid, are interested in, the Anfield team may now go into overdrive, according to AS.

Although Real Madrid does not have the resources to match Borussia Dortmund’s £130 million asking price for the midfielder, they still hope to reach a personal agreement with Bellingham regarding a potential transfer. Bellingham, who is only 19 years old, is currently making £49,000 per week.

Although Madrid might have to pull off some miracles to sign Bellingham, their decision to send a representative to Dortmund has seemingly woken up Liverpool, who could now be ready to accelerate their attempts to bring the England midfielder to Anfield this summer.

Indeed, everyone and their mother is aware that Bellingham is Liverpool’s main target this summer, but with Madrid also showing a similar stance on the teenage superstar, the Reds could have to act fast if they’re to win the race for the former Birmingham City wonderkid.

And Madrid sending an official to Germany will do little to help Liverpool’s bid, with Jurgen Klopp’s side now likely to be scrambling a deal together that could be accepted by Dortmund, who will reportedly not budge in their £130m asking price for the wonderkid.

Bellingham will find it hard to reject a move to Madrid, especially if Liverpool miss out on top-four, and with the Spanish side making a huge amount of effort to lure the midfielder to the Bernabeu, their Premier League rivals could find themselves stumbling in the race for the Dortmund man.
