Liverpool transfer news:Marco Asensio price tag set while Jurgen Klopp ‘turned down’ trio
In order to begin their preparations for the forthcoming 2022–23 Premier League season, a number of clubs, including Liverpool, returned to pre-season training this week.
However, it is yet unclear whether any additional new players will join the existing group of players.
After being linked with Marco Asensio since the season’s end, the Reds now know how much they would have to pay for his services because Real Madrid have set their asking price for the winger amid rumours.
Also, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Los Blancos have set a price range for the winger of exactly £21.6 million to £25.8 million, which is a very fair deal for a player of his calibre. Asensio is also prepared to forego compensation in order to join a “convincing project.”
Asensio is reportedly seeking more playing time after falling down the pecking order in the Spanish capital, but with Liverpool’s forward options currently available, it would be up to him to decide if the Reds makes an approach.
It has been made known elsewhere that three midfielders Jurgen Klopp turned down the chance to sign.
Before his move to Manchester City, it has been revealed by National News Sport that Jurgen Klopp ‘turned down the chance to sign Kalvin Phillips this summer. The German also missed out on the chance to sign Yves Bissouma from Brighton and Youri Tielemans from Leicester.
Tielemans seems increasingly likely to join Arsenal, while Bissouma has since moved to Tottenham Hotspur.
Additionally, the fact that this occurred before Mohamed Salah committed to a new deal at Anfield raises the possibility that money was being set aside to cover his contract requirements.
