Liverpool transfer: £62m bid ‘rejected’ for Sensational Premier League star midfielder

There are a few potential contenders that might join Anfield in January as Liverpool looks to add to its midfield options after acquiring PSV attacker Cody Gakpo.

Only one day into the January transfer window, and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have already been busy.

Before the transfer season even opened, the Reds agreed to a deal to capture former Manchester United target Cody Gakpo for a sum that might reach £45 million.

Given that a central midfielder is on their winter purchasing list, their venture is unlikely to be over there.

Between now and the end of the month, a lot of names have been connected with a move to Merseyside, although it is unclear whether Klopp will succeed in his goals. Here are the most recent Anfield transfer rumors that have surfaced in the last 24 hours.

Reds see Caicedo offer rejected

Liverpool has made an effort to include Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo among their January additions after clinching a deal for Gakpo.

According to reports from Ecuador obtained by the Liverpool Echo, the Reds’ massive £62 million approach to buy him before Chelsea did was turned down.

Since joining the Seagulls from Independiente del Valle in 2021, Caicedo has consistently made an impression. The contract of the 21-year-old has 2.5 years left on it.

It is uncertain whether Liverpool will submit a second bid before the transfer window closes or decide to pursue other prospects.
