Liverpool set to trigger £42m release clause for Barcelona youngster

According to sources, Liverpool are ready to activate Barcelona youngster Gavi’s £42 million release clause. The youngster was in fantastic form this season.

According to the Sport, Liverpool are said to be willing to pay the £42 million release clause for Gavi this summer. They appear to be able to embark on the deal with ease.

Furthermore, Liverpool will provide the youngster with a much more lucrative financial deal than Barcelona is now offering. The Reds are hoping to sign one of Europe’s most gifted young players by working together.

Gavi’s contract expires in 2023, and Barcelona are in desperate need of a replacement. However, that release clause has the potential to take everything away from them.

On the outside, this appears to be pure transfer window rumour, the kind that you hear every year. However, it appears that there is some truth to this.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently spoke to L’Esportiu about Gavi in an interview. Gavi’s agents, according to Laporta, are ‘comparing’ their offer to others, causing a serious delay in contract negotiations. That fits perfectly with reports that Liverpool will increase the midfielder’s salary.

£42 million is a steal for one of Europe’s most promising young players. He also has a definite role in Liverpool’s squad, and we’re crossing our fingers that the Reds can pull this off.

Gavi would be a huge summer statement for Liverpool, and one that may repay them for a long time.
