Klopp gives the perfect reply to why Thiago was taken off against Man United
Liverpool secured a comfortable 4-0 win over rival Manchester United in the Premier League on Tuesday night at Anfield.
With a goal each from Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane and a brace from Mohamed Salah helped the Reds Leapfrog Man City in the Premier League table.
Thiago Alcantara put up a fantastic performance against Ralf Rangnick’s men at Anfield.
The Spaniard left the pitch in the 80th minute and was replaced by Keita. It looked as if he had pulled a muscle a few minutes before the substitution so it’s nice to hear he is fine.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and explained why he substituted the star midfielder and while also heaping praise on him.
“Thiago ripped his shorts! I thought it was something else [like an injury]. He’s fine,” Jurgen Klopp said when asked why Thiago was taken off against Man United.
“He is an outstanding player,” the boss said. “We have to make sure that he can keep his rhythm and that he can play as often as possible.
“Thiago played a good game. So from our point of view, really nothing to moan about. We really don’t take this for granted.”
