“I’m very happy with this decision” – watch Liverpool superstar Roberto Firmino reveals he has offered an alternative contract view to Mo Salah and Sadio Mane as he takes final decision
Sadio Mane was lost to the Reds, but Mohamed Salah was kept in a crucial summer transfer window.
While contract negotiations are ongoing, Liverpool star Roberto Firmino has already volunteered his skills to his team.
With Sadio Mane leaving and Mohamed Salah’s negotiations stretching out over the course of the year, it is quite the refreshing view for the Reds.

When it comes to contracts, Liverpool’s star Firmino has provided his team a different predicament than his striker mates Mane and Salah, where very different outcomes occurred.
Bayern Munich swooped in to sign Mane after he informed the Reds that he did not want to sign a new contract.
They were able to recruit the Senegal international for a reasonable £35 million, which is significantly less than what Liverpool would have demanded had his contract not been slated to expire the following year.
It implies that Jurgen Klopp will in all likelihood be without his outstanding three next season, which was the cornerstone of his success at the club.
Though they have Darwin Nunez to try his best, replacing Mane will be a challenge.
Salah, on the other hand, has made the decision to stay put after all and signed a new deal this summer to end rumors that he might depart.
But only after more than a year of negotiations, during which there was squabbling on both sides, not least from the agent of the Egyptian, who sent out several cryptic tweets that appeared to be directed at Liverpool.
Although the ends have justified the methods, this contract renewal was anything but simple, and it required many discussions before an agreement was finally reached.
Therefore, Firmino’s words on a new contract, which is due to expire next year, must have been welcomed.
Back in May, the Brazilian said:
“I’m very happy here. I’m grateful to God to be here playing at a great club with great players, winning titles, and my wish is to stay.
“I want to be here, I’m happy here, and that’s all I can say – I want to stay.”
