How Sadio Mane’s contract extension could affect Salah’s new deal

Liverpool winger Sadio Mane’s Contract expires in 2023 and no real progress has been made regarding a new deal for the Senegalese.

According to credible journalist David Lynch, he is second on Liverpool’s priority list, below Mohamed Salah. The REDS are likely to offer new deals to two players from the Salah-Mane-Firmino Trio.

“Again, this is one I don’t expect any progress on until the summer given it is ultimately tied to what happens with Salah,” Lynch told Anfield Watch.

“One source recently told me that, at best, only two of the out-of-contract front three (Salah, Mane, Firmino) are likely to end up staying.

“In that context, it’s easy to see why there’d be a delay on sorting Mane’s situation while Salah – who they’d obviously most like to keep – remains in negotiations over a new deal.”

Mane is in an interesting situation with the Reds. He remains one of their best players but at the age of 30, his market value will only drop from now on and with the arrival of Luis Diaz he now has some competition on the left-wing.

Liverpool have got a big task at hand this summer, with Salah’s contract situation, Mane is another ‘unbelievable’ player whose future is far from certain.
