Fabrizio Romano stunning revelation on Man City hijack of Liverpool transfer target Aleix Mac Allister

Famous Journalist Fabrizio Romano has aired his view on recent claims Man City are primed to hijack a Liverpool deal for Brighton midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister.

The 24-year-old is one of the Premier League’s most in-demand midfielders heading into the summer transfer window.

Mac Allister can play in a variety of positions including holding midfield, in a box-to-box role, or as a No 10. Combined with his technical ability, engine, and tenacity, Mac Allister is courting heavyweight interest.

Liverpool have emerged as the clear favorite to beat the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea for the signature of the World Cup winner.

Indeed, trusted Argentine reporter, Gaston Edul, recently declared “Alexis Mac Allister will be a new Liverpool player”.

TyC Sports stated a £70m deal is agreed, though is yet to be made official. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported personal terms between Liverpool and the midfielder are almost agreed.

Is Alexis Mac Allister going to Liverpool ?

For Jurgen Klopp, everything was therefore heading in the right direction—that is until claims of Man City stealing the deal surfaced.

The Premier League champions were among those who were considered for what would be a devastating blow for Liverpool, according to the Mirror.

They claimed that Man City will sabotage Alexis MacAllister’s transfer to Liverpool. According to the article, Pep Guardiola sees the Argentine as the ideal replacement for either Bernardo Silva or Ilkay Gundogan, who may both depart the Etihad this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has now added his opinion of Man City foregoing Liverpool’s move. Thankfully for the Reds, talk of a hijack appears to be premature.

The trusted journalist tweeted Man City are “not in the race” for Mac Allister “at this stage”. Furthermore, there are “no talks or concrete contacts” between City and the Brighton ace.

Romano stressed Liverpool are “close” to reaching a full agreement over personal terms and are simply “waiting on the final details”.

For the time being at least, it’s panic over at Anfield.
